Akonesia is rooted in the vibrant spirit of South Auckland, guided by the belief that our rangatahi flourish when culture, identity, and community shape their learning. Inspired by ʻOku lave lava ke nau tū mo e kakai — we grow stronger together — our kaupapa centres whanaungatanga, belonging, and collective growth.

Like the woven threads of kafa, we bring together culture, connection, and education to create safe, uplifting spaces for young people to explore who they are. Through workshops, holiday programmes, and academic support, we help rangatahi grow their talents across music, sport, arts, culture, language, and learning.

Grounded in talanoa and the spirit of he tangata, he tangata, he tangata, we walk alongside families and community to empower Māori and Pasifika learners to rise into their potential. As a not-for-profit organisation, Akonesia is committed to nurturing a love for learning that strengthens homes, whānau, and our wider village.
