Akonesia dreams to grow a love for learning so that our rangatahi continue to feel inspired, confident and capable life-long learners who are passionate about education. We hope they will be inspired to share that love for learning.

We believe that when learning is rooted in culture, community, and talanoa, our young people develop into confident, capable lifelong learners who hold education with pride and purpose.


OUR BELIEF

Lālanga is a culturally grounded digital programme that supports Māori and Pasifika youth through meaningful and connected learning.

Inspired by lālanga — the art of weaving — it offers a safe, welcoming space for students to grow in both identity and knowledge. Through a simple online classroom model, Lālanga connects students, kaiako, and mentors to explore storytelling, values, language, and life skills in ways that honour culture and belonging.
